Beyoncé and her designer, Marni Senofonte teamed up with Olivier Rousteing, the creative director of Balmain, who was “wowed” by the songs in the album Renaissance, to create a one-of-a-kind haute couture line for the French label.
On Friday, March 24, 2023, the cover of the French edition of Vogue magazine revealed the over-ten-pieces of the Renaissance Couture collection. Each of which were inspired by one of the sixteen songs from Beyoncé’s seventh solo album, Renaissance. The album’s music, phrases, and rhythms blend together a dazzling range of genres, so it’s not unexpected that the fashion collection it inspired is also inventive.
In close collaboration with the Balmain design team and Beyoncé’s longtime stylist Marni Senofonte, the collection was designed to interpret the Renaissance’s delight and ingenuity into a high-fashion collection, utilizing a variety of materials and techniques while maintaining Balmain’s classic signature.
On the cover page of the April issue of the French Vogue Magazine which unveiled the Renaissance Couture and will be available online and in print on March 29, Beyonce herself wore a black Balmain Couture bodycon dress covered with rhinestones and a matching round hat.
You can see some of the looks that Rousteing and Beyoncé came up with in this exquisite collection below.
