The six-day Fall-Winter 2023 collection show concluded another New York Fashion Week without disappointing.
A host of fashionistas descended on the city to celebrate the ingenious works of some of the most recognizable New York designers. The consensus theme of these fashion designers at the fashion week was a return to a wearable (and unarguably realistic) wardrobe with complementing updates, carry-all totes, and jackets fit for layering.Â
Amongst the guests at the 2023 New York Fashion Week were notable editors, frequent buyers, of-the-moment influencers, and A-list celebrities. The runway event showcased some delightful works of clothing from the likes of Rodarte, Thom Browne, Coach, Prabal Gurung and Eckhaus Latta.Â
Here are some of our favorite clothing presentations by top brands at the 2023 New York Fashion Fall/Winter runway.
Michael Kors "Retro" 2023 Fall Collection

For Michael Kors Fall/Winter 2023 collection, we had beautiful models strutting down the catwalk in monotone outfits while accessorizing with large belts, dramatic geode necklaces, wraparound sunglasses, fringe and fur shawls, and lots more.

Also, the American designer experimented with references to the 1970s and 1980s by using boho flare pants and power suiting.

Proenza Schouler "Realistic" 2023 Fall Collection

(Photo: MODEL WEARING PROENZA DEEP BLUE MAXI DRESS)
We can all agree that there are times we just want to see realistic ready-to-wear clothing on the runway. Personally, I would really love that and this is exactly what Proenza offered at the recently concluded 2023 New York Fashion Week.

It was difficult not to covet virtually everything in Proenza Schouler’s realistic wear for fall/winter 2023 collection. There was practically something for every type of New York lady, from structured blue suits with fresh citrus-colored button-downs to leather maxi skirts and glittering dresses.

The Proenza Schouler Fall/Winter collection certainly pulled out all the stops on the runway at this year’s New York Fashion Week.
LaQuan Smith "Nostalgic" 2023 Fall Collection

(Photo: MODEL WEARING LAQUAN MINI DRESS)
LaQuan Smith is the one designer you can always depend on if you want rows and rows of sexiness. The LaQuan’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection had a strong evolutionary feel about it. The models strolled into the Rainbow Room in sleek silhouettes, timeless tailoring, and lovely jackets. The whole mood was glamorous with a hint of strong woman nostalgia from the 1980s.Â

Amongst the famous personalities who were on seat for the LaQuan presentation were Kimora Lee Simmons, Julia Fox and Teyana Taylor.

Carolina Herrera "Dramatic" 2023 Fall Collection

For her 2023 Fall/Winter collection, Carolina Herrera continued to be resolutely partial to glamour-type outfits despite the trend of this season’s runway drawn towards workwear.

The best outfits in the show incorporated ball skirts and nipped waists, typical of Herrera designs, with just the right amount of dramatic flair: a bomber jacket with gold trim, a gigantic bow, and a tulle skirt.

The entire result was brilliant albeit a bit over-the-top in comparison to the presentations from other designers.
PatBo "Bohemian" 2023 Fall Collection

PatBO’s New York Fashion Week show featured gorgeous outfits that range from sparkly two-piece sets to crystal-encrusted bustiers layered underneath clean white trousers that could easily pass off as a top celebrity’s outfit at the red carpet event of any major entertainment awards show.
Offering bohemian sequined cargo trousers and a brilliant purple skirt combo, her 38 looks presentation alternated between casual elegance and downright show-stopping moments.
And with her use of bold hues, sheer materials, several bra tops, and an abundance of sparkle, PatBo’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection undoubtedly has a retro feel about it.
Rodarte "Gothic Fairy" 2023 Fall Collection

(Photo: RODARTE MODEL WEARING FLARED SLEEVE DRESS)
Dark, gothic glamor was the focus of RODARTE’s fall 2023 collection. The RODARTE collection featured dresses with white lace trimmings, bridal silhouettes in gloomy blues and blacks, and headpieces fit for Maleficent. Flared sleeves dragging as long as the skirts, with the occasional collar billowing outward like a flying bat.

The Rodarte 2023 Fall collection also showcased a few whimsical designs that included, a variety of fairy-inspired dresses embellished with oversized wings, tulle trimmings, and elfin ear pieces, flouncy pastel-colored sequin ensembles, and a sparkling rainbow bow-trimmed dress.
Brandon Maxwell "Low-Key" 2023 Fall Collection

Brandon Maxwell was focused on the basic components for his fall look collection; he shifted away from striking colors and patterns this season in favor of intriguing geometries, heralding the comeback of the peplum, as well as more tactile materials like leather and uncomplicated wool suits for the evening.

This time around, there was a modest decrease in the drama.
