The legendary model, Naomi Campbell stars in a brand-new FENDI ad campaign promoting their Peekaboo bag for Spring/Summer 2023.
Naomi is photographed by British photographer David Sims in a cinematic black and white imagery as she reprises her role as the face of the iconic Peekaboo line.
Campbell is shown in the ad giving different poses with the Fendi Peekaboo bag. A bag that has for the longest time served as a divine example of bold feminine energy, a genuine sense of independence, ambition, and strength, making it possible for women all over the world to identify with it.
And Naomi Campbell, who has long been a representation of brash feminine energy, wonderfully captures this inner strength that the Peekaboo bag symbolizes for all women.
For the ad shoot, Kim Jones, a womenswear designer, created Naomi Campbell’s chic outfits, while the photo shoot was expertly styled by Melanie Ward, with hair by Shay Ashual and the makeup by Angloma.
In addition to the Peekaboo bag, Campbell is also seen sporting tailored coats, which elevates the campaign even further.
Brief History of The Peekaboo Bag
The Fendi Peekaboo bag has since 2008 established itself as a defining example of Roman craftsmanship combined with a personal expression of Fendi womanhood. The Peekaboo bag created by Silvia Venturini Fendi was unveiled at the brand’s Spring/Summer 2009 runway event by Karl Lagerfeld, and was dubbed a “Response” and defined as a design born of the need to rethink contemporary accessories.

“There was an invasion of bags on the catwalk everywhere at the time, so I really wanted to create a bag that only a real leather goods maker like Fendi could possibly make, it was the moment to set things straight with a new classic. I wanted to evoke the beauty of a vintage bag with a lock, but for the first time make it about the movement of the bag.”

“With the Peekaboo, I really wanted to produce that idea in a bag. That’s why I selected a very soft leather, as the bag was shown open and inside you could reveal a different color of a very beautiful glove leather.”
