Alaïa’s Creative Director, Pieter Mulier, has been preserving the legacy of the venerable Parisian fashion house, which is why, for their Spring 2023 campaign, Mulier decided to maintain a connection to the past by working with the daughter of Cindy Crawford, a former model who debuted on her own in Alaïa’s Spring 1987 and Fall 1989 collections.
The Alaïa Winter-Spring 2023 campaign star – Kaia Gerber, who was picked for both her rising stardom and the fact that she is the daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford, a former model for the company and personal friend of the Azzedine Alaia owner of the company.
The collection features silhouettes that pay homage to the human body’s natural forms in black, white, firetruck red, and denim motifs. In the campaign ad Gerber is portrayed as the quintessential Alaïa woman—a young actress who exudes strength via her glitz and confidence.
