Prada recently made its entry into the fine jewelry market with a focus on environmental sustainability, using only traceable diamonds and recycled gold, the luxury brand launched its “Eternal Gold” collection using only 100% certified recycled gold.
Making Jewelry is all about making items that will last many years, and Prada has opted to use sustainability to reflect this idea of one-of-a-kind items passed down from generation to generation, as a result the Milanese brand chose only certified gold that complies with the Responsible Jewelry Council’s chain of custody guidelines for this collection.
The Prada Eternal Gold collection is essentially the company’s first line of fine jewelry created with sustainability in mind.
The jewelry line, which includes ethically-sourced diamonds and recycled gold, consists of a variety of items, such as; heart-shaped earrings and hefty chokers with huge Prada Triangle pendants.
For the sake of transparency, and also to be able to authenticate its jewelry quality, the brand enabled its customers to be able to follow through with the journey of its Eternal Gold Jewelries on the Aura Consortium Blockchain, established by LVMH, Cartier and Prada Group.
The Prada Foundation’s Osservatorio location in Milan hosted the presentation of the collection. Its pieces reimagine some jewelry motifs in classic Prada style, including the snake bracelets, heart motifs, the chain bracelet, and the ribbon choker, as well as the brand’s distinctive triangular insignia, which was first employed by creator Mario Prada as a symbol of wealth.

The Heart Motif

According to Iwata, head of jewelry at Prada:
“The heart is rounded at the top but sharply cut at the tip because today’s Gen Z consumers know that love can be strong and devastating, and dramatically beautiful.”
The Snake Bracelet
The snake, a symbol of transformation, is made of smooth gold, looking as though it has just shed its skin, symbolizing change in jewelry.
The Prada Eternal Gold Snake Bracelet is not intended to be worn on the wrist, but as a result of its flexible titanium component, it fits higher up on the forearm like a Cleopatra-style fine jewelry.
