Rewilding and Rechilding with Stella McCartney's Spring Collection
The Stella McCartney 2023 Spring Collection is rooted in the ethos of “Rewilding and Rechilding” and according to the brand, it is built for “untamed” Stella ladies who live freely and in peace with nature.
Naturalist Miriam Rothschild and Knepp Farm in Horsham, who returned their land to Mother Earth and allowed it to rebalance itself and restore animals without being disturbed, served as inspiration for Stella McCartney. Working with ecologist and reintroduction specialist Derek Gow, she is rewilding her own farm using native plants and animals as inspiration.
The naivety, sentimentality, and innocence of the Spring 2023 collection serves as a type of “rechilding”—playfully bringing back the child inside each of us through clothing, so you can wear whatever you choose.
So far it has been the company’s most sustainable collection to date and is manufactured from 85% ethical materials.
It is a branch between both natural and man-made environments, supporting the upbeat botanical color scheme of Spring season’s sunflower yellow, rose pink, poppy red, and lime green.
